It bases this calculation on the devices and home appliances you add to your Home Items List. We suggest you enter ALL items that use power in your home as this tool will calculate both what you need for Emergency Backup Only (box on the left) and what you need to be completely off grid (box on the right). This tool also takes into account other alternative power sources you may already have, so be sure enter the proper information in the boxes concerning you solar if you have it.
